SPORTMANSHIP STILL EXIST

Does ruthless world of sports has some heart ?.Yes ! It was evident with TIM SMYCZEK  was playing recently with Rafael Nadal in Australian open Championship 2015 . SMYCZEK lost the match 7-5 in the decider but displayed a gesture of sportsmanship, so rarely seen in tennis where the call of a chair umpire usually overrides the conscience of many a player . This has left an indelible mark over the tournament. Smyczek  dismissed his gesture with a one liner in his press conference " You know I though it was the right thing to do ." But Nadal was clearly appreciative of the American  ." I want to congratulate Tim, he has real gentleman for what he did. Not a lot a people will do this at 6-5 in the fifth."Novak Djokovic was also impressed   " its nice to have something that is greater than sport itself, you know , the sportsmanship and fair play". It was an extraordinary moment , beautiful and memorable.  This also dispels the notion that sportsman spirit as a wider virtue is dying .  This happens because players like TIM SMYCZEK exist still. Quote from Nastia Liukin sums it up comprehensively* It’s because you love the sport. *
